Japanese food ~39~ Wagashi 和菓子(わがし)
These are Japanese sweets. Maybe green color sweet seems to be
unusual. All of these sweets are made of "Mochi(sticky food)"
I think the color of Sakura mochi(See the second photo) is good.
It uses the leaf of cherry blossoms. And the leaf is pickled in salt.
You can enjoy these sweets, drinking Japanese green tea.

Mnam, looks tasty! Are these hand made? I read once about a wagashi shop, located in Tatsuno town - the shop was 270 years old and had amazing traditions in creating wagashi. They looked also so beautiful and refined - as always, I wonder how people can bring themselfs to eat such beauty and destroy it :)

I don't really know how these sweets are made. I guess makers need to do some thing by hand.
You need a very high tequnique to become such misters.
But the shop you mentioned has
a long history. That's amazing.
