Japanese lifestyle The photos of cherry blossoms

I went to a temple, called Dai kou in だいこういん 大光院
Petals of cherry blossoms will scatter soon. Maybe it will be in a week...

This is a stature of Buddha.
A festival called "Ya se gawa Sakura Matsuri"will be held on weekend.

I could see a lot of carps in this small river.

This is normal street of this city.

 呑龍様 どんりゅうさま Don ryuu sama
Don ryuu sama is another name of the temple.

Here is a community center. A festival is held at this ground in a season.
I could see a lot of nice cherry blossoms.

 This is chouchin. (lantern)

Lovely pictures, indeed!
Cherry trees are the symbol of Japan that each foreigner has and the Japanese people seem really attached to cherry trees.
I am wondering: why is it cherry trees? Why not plum, for example.

Here in Copenhagen, there is a small garden where lots of cherry trees are planted. When they start blossoming, many Japanese gather under the trees for picnics. I guess, they miss Japan, especially in this season.
