Japanese lifestyle ~59~ the National Pention fund国民年金(こくみんねんきん)

Do you have the National Pension fund in your country?
In Japan, you have to start to pay the pension from 20 years old.
If you are students, you are exempted from paying by special
procedure.
You have to pay 15,050 yen(148.56 dollars, 114.85 Euro) every month now. This is
duty of all people. The welfare is not so sufficient like Northern Europe.
So, I guess the sum is smaller than Northern Europe.
You can pay at bank, convenience store, or  on Internet.

Um, I am a bit surprised that in Japan people go and pay for their pention "manually" every month. I am used to it being "automatic" over here - it is deducted from out paychecks each month. In fact, we almost do not touch money over here - salaries are paid directly in a bank account, after first pulling out pention, then pulling out taxes.
In Denmark, something like 17.1% are paid for pention each month. This is usualy divided - the company pays 2/3 of this and the rest is paid by the employee. Of course, there could be other arrangements - it varies from company to company.

Actually,we can pay by bank or
stuff like that if you want.
And,we also have the system
like what you said.
If you are regular employee,
company would pay some of the
Pension.
