Japanese lifestyle ~2~ The season of autumn

Japan is famous for the distinct change of four season.
A lot of foreign people enjoy this change of season in Japan.
Now we Japanese are feeling that autumn has come.
The leaf of trees will change to orange gradually in the near future.

By the way, do you have any image about autumn in your culture?
After the hot summer, our life is getting more confortable.
So, many kinds of activities happen in the school or in the local community,
such as a sports day and a festival.

In Japanese, we have some words about autumn.

The autumn is the season of sports.
The autumn is the season of cultures.
The autumn is the season of art.
The autumn is the season of  reading books.
The autumn is the season of  appetite.

In this season, Japanese people would remind ''Kuri (=the chestnut)'', ''Sannma (=a Pacific saury)'',
''Kaki (=a persimmon (see the photo above))''.

I love Autumn. We also call it "Fall."
I think because the leaves fall off the trees?
I like the cooler temperatures and the colors of the leaves.
People like to rake the leaves together into a big pile and jump into it.
It is also the season when football starts. And a new school year. (Kids have the whole summer out of school.
